Mentor of the project "Hard shell, unknown core: taxonomy of egg shells"
Three pupils of the Hermann-Tast School in Husum, Germany approached me about a project idea: can we identify "mystery eggs" in the schools' collection based on morphology and genetics? Together, we measured a reference collection at the museum (see picture on the right) and extracted DNA from some of the mystery shells.
